First let me welcome you to my web site and thank you for showing interest in my animals and product. My name is Melissa and I live in Joshua, Texas with my husband, Mark, and our four boys; Zac, Justin, Jacob & Matthew. I have been raising diary goats since 1998. My herd began with Nigerian Dwarfs, then in 2000 we added a couple of LaManchas to breed for Mini Manchas, which finally led to me selling out of every goat except the LaManchas, that I have totally fell in love with. 2010 - Well we are getting off to a good start. We have our milk room with insulated walls and ceiling. Now to finish the electricity and plumbing. Hopefully we will be done before all the girls are fresh. With 20 girls to freshen I will want to be useing my milking machine. 2009
- Well now that we are settled in our new home we are finally starting
to work on the milk room again. Well we sidelined the milkroom again,
but this time for a good reason. We decided to add on to the barn so
we could make a milkroom that would be better for both goats and people.
It would also add better loafing area for the girls and kids. Wow here
it is Oct/Nov and we have had more rain than I have seen in a long time.
I have had the rain wash through my barn not once or even twice but
more than I would like to even think about. At least now I know what
I need to fix on the barn to keep the water from running through. Breeding
season is almost over come look and see what we are expecting. 2007 - Happened to be a great year for us! CH Dreamy Delights Sugar received her permenant championship and to boot she is the first with our herd name. But that was just the icing on the cake for a wonderful show year for us. Our herd received 6 x Gch, 6 x RGch, 4 x BOB, 1 x BUIS and 1 x BDIS. We had our first LA session with the Stephen Richter. Stephen taught us a lot about our goats, so now we can take what we have learned and improve on our weaknesses.
